Maryland Wing Aerospace Academy

Four cadets from the Arundel Composite Squadron attended the Maryland Wing Aerospace Academy.  Formerly known as Glider Academy, this week-long activity includes instructional flights in gliders and powered aircraft, as well as classes on:

 

bulletAerodynamics of glider flight
bulletTow aircraft procedures and glider hook-up
bulletFlight line operations with special emphasis on Safety
bulletWeather conditions and effects in glider operations
bulletHealth factors in outdoor activities including hydration and dehydration

In addition, cadets participated in other C.A.P. classroom training, recreational activities and a field trip to the National Air & Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center located at Dulles Airport.  The final formation and awards presentation took place at Frederick Composite Squadron HQ on Saturday, June 26.
